Purple Dress

Black is really not my colour and I have a black dress, but it's kind of plunging-- the kind old people really don't like. I needed a dress for Monday (which is the funeral I am attending), so I opted for a more fun dress (and got it approved-- this part is key). It's purple and black and the old gal's funeral that I will be at would have loved it! She was quite the fashionista herself!

In the midst of my hectic life, I am playing in a golf tournament for work. Each year the Kidney Foundation of Canada hosts a tourney to raise money for the foundation. It's a great cause!

Anyway, as I am in the tournament, I need an OUTFIT! The last time I played golf was when I was 10 years old. I was in a golf camp and was the only girl... I was never any good, but I got to ride around in the golf cart and drink Slush Puppies.

So, today I went out an bought a red and white striped polo-like shirt. I'm not one for polo's, I'd rather have like a flow-y flowery shirt, but I guess you kind of have to go with the rules of the game.

I've been slacking!

I know, I know... I've totally been slacking on this section. I've got a sweet post for tonight that shouldn't take long:

If you a) live in Canada or b) plan to visit PLEASE visit the Great Canadian Super Store. Yes, it's a grocery store, but found right in the middle is a clothing section. I'm sure you're thinking "clothing at a grocery store?"-- but you must take a look.

The company is called Joe and they have an array of styles for everyone. They make great summer dresses and their jeans are pretty cute. Best of all it's SOOO cheap! and right now they are having 70% off!

They get new stuff about every couple of weeks, so it's always worth popping in for a quick browse!

Ford (yes, the car company) has a campaign called Warriors in Pink. As their site says, "Ford and your Ford dealer are recruiting Warriors to help ramp up the fight against breast cancer." I'm all for the cause and they have loads of things for sale! My favourite is the Woven Scarf:

Threadless

I found this company ages ago and purchased a bunch of tee's from them in the winter with my former housemates! As students, we were all about the combined shipping!! Anyway, they are great tee's... slightly off the wall, but never the less cute, funky and stylish. I can honestly say I have never seen anyone rocking the one's I have!! Make sure you peep Threadless often because they have super awesome sales once and a while!

Some of the Funkiest Shoes!

It's not very often that you come across a company that makes shoes you can walk a mile in. I own a million pairs of shoes and can last an entire night in just few of them... no one wants to spend the night sitting, when they could be dancing the night away!

I was super excited to find FarylRobin shoes last summer at one of my favourite downtown stores. Stylish. Comfy. Goes with everything!-- I was in heaven! When you find a company this good, you have to share it with everyone!

Here are a few of my favourites!

This one is called Lola-- dress it up, or dress it down! I love the pink version ("flesh") and think it would be divine with a form fitting LBD or with a cute pair of jeans!

The Entworth. Love the name! Love the look! Just imagine wearing these when your out dancing the night away... you'll actually be able to walk home and still look super cute!

Aura in "mermaid" might be my favourite from this collection! I can just picture my self wearing these with great summer dress. I am such a sucker for gold and aqua together-- it's the epitome of summer, isn't it?!

The Colours of Fall!

Woah, I just wrote the word "fall" and we aren't even in August! But it's true, fall is right around the corner and that means it's nearly time to put the shorts away and pull out the sweater and pants. Scary thought. BUT rather than focus on that, I will focus on the colour of fall!

Forget Orange, Yellow and Red... the colour of fall is Purple!

It seems like everything now comes in purple and why not? It goes with most colours, it's classy and can be dressed up or down. Here's a few suggestions at different price points to check out!
